Can not sign in, sign in screen goes blank.

On my desktop computer I can not sign in at all, whether in MSN Premium or using IE. I do get the initial sign in screen but when I click sign in it just goes blank, never even get to enter password. The same happens when I try to sign in to MSN on IE. No error message. I am using my laptop now, no problem. I conclude the files on desktop are corrupt. I need my desktop, my laptop is used mainly for traveling. I have had a lot of problems lately with Windows Explorer and email. Often hanging up or crashing. Also lost the ability to spell check anything except email. Everything I do is within MSN Premium, I do not use IE directly. I need the desktop badly, urgent help needed. One other note, I'm no computer genus.

Jeeva:

I tried the above and it did not work.

In the last two days, I have called Microsoft Support several times and never can get anyone at 800.386.5550.

Do you have a better number?

Thanks,

Allan  (LDR)

When I click on the butterfly I get my icon.  When I click on my icon to sign in, the screen goes blank!  I have called the microsoft phone # for 2 days and been on hold more than 20 minutes.  I am thinking of cancelling my MSN Premium accou8nt.

I followed the advice given, I.e., add MSN to trusted site via Internet option, but didn't work.

A couple days ago the credential sign on screen appears as a blank white box with nowhere  to enter my username and password.  I have also tried the installation wizard to update to try to install the newest version, but when the installation wizard screen appears, it is also a blank white box and nothing else happens even after several hours.

I have also tried calling technical support several times today and nobody ever answers the phone. Each time I have given up after being on hold for 20 minutes.  There is never a message saying what caller I am or what the expected wait time is.  Just music.

I am paying for MSN Premium software yet cannot even sign into my account.  I can only get to my email through outlook from another browser.

And your posts about the sign on changes mention nothing about never even getting a chance to sign in.

Please Help!!!!

The problems concerning inability to obtain a sign-in screen is not unique to MSN Premium using Explorer.  There are multiple posts on the MSN Community website concerning this problems as it relates to msn.com also ... Affected users are able to access msn.com using alternate browsers and then signing in ...   When those affected try to access msn.com or msn premium via the icons on their desktops and try to sign in they will get a blank screen .. I wish someone at Microsoft would acknowledge the existence of this problem and provide an update ..  Thank you ..

I just received a suggestion on the Microsoft Community website and it worked for me. I am now able to sign-in on both the IE and Butterfly icons.

I finally found help for this problem.

Go to Tools, Internet Options, Advanced, Security then make sure the following boxes are checked:

SSL 2.0
SSL 3.0
TLS 1.0Report as Abuse

Hello,

Yes, Microsoft is aware of the problem and it gets resolved by performed the above instruction. If you hve already tried please try resetting Internet explorer.

How to Reset Internet Explorer :

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-au/windows7/reset-internet-explorer-settings

How to Optimize Internet Explorer:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-id/hotmail/optimize-internet-explorer

If the issue still persists please contact MSN support

Once you reset and optimize IE please try adding the above listed sites under Trusted Sites. We don't have any alternate contact number for MSN. We are experiencing high call volumes due to this issue. Please wait for some time over the phone to get any agent from MSN.

Thanks,
Jeeva

We can't just wait on hold for an indeterminate amount of time in hopes that eventually someone might actually answer.  If this is a known problem that is blowing up your phone lines and you don't have the resources to respond in a timely manner, why hasn't MSN and it's IT gurus just fixed the problem or reverse what they did wrong that caused the issue in the first place?
