I  think this is a file extension problem.  Done two restores.  No help.  Bought Norton Utilities.  No help. Tried to download from MSN Fix It.  No help. Every file download stalls.  Failure notice ususally shows MSN# not available but may be MSN7, MSN9, etc.

Hi Waynehambright ,

The mailhost file is installed with your MSN software. If this file is missing or damaged, MSN shows a "Mailhost file" message. To enable MSN to find the file:

Click Start, and then click Run.
- Or -
Click Start, and then click in the Start Search box.

Type regsvr32 c:\progra~1\msn\msncorefiles\mailui.dll in the text box, and then press ENTER.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,
Satjot

I have used MicroSoft Fixit but cannot download any of the fix its.  When I cut and paste  "regsvr32 c:\progra~1\msn\msncorefiles\mailui.dll" into 'Run', I get "Load Library (regsvr32 c:\progra~1\msn\msncorefiles\mailui.dll failed. ) Invalid access to memory location."  When I cut and paste this string into 'Search' I get There are no results.  I do not know how to capture a screen shot for you.  However the message is:

              Windows cannot open this file
             File:   MSN3.download

To open this file, Windows needs to know what program created it. Windows
can go on line to look it up automatically or you may select from a list of programs
      on your computer.

What do you want to do?

I have tried various programs from the program list.  When I go on line, I am taken to BING where I get into the loop of not being able to download.

Thanks for any suggestion.
