Also when empty Junk mail folder.  Mail won't be emptied. Also there are some email with zero kb in size and can't be deleted right away and it takes long time for it to be emptied.

Based on all the descriptions you gave, email messages are not able to properly synchronize with the email servers since the changes that you want to do on MSN are not being saved.

There could be several reasons why this is so.

First, please check the email servers by following the steps on this link to access http://hotmail.com/: http://answers.msn.com/solution.aspx?solutionid=a5fb54a8-e777-4f80-bf64-c2db72c9d905

Try to check if you can send a test email to yourself and if you’ll be able to receive it. If you’re not able to do so, please check the Private Message below.

Second, go to the email page and check if you only have 1 Inbox. If there are others, please follow these steps to remove additional email accounts which maybe causing the concern:

1. Click on Help & Settings at the top then click Settings.

2. Click "1 Change your e-mail settings"

3. Click "Additional e-mail accounts"

4. Click "Additional MSN and Hotmail e-mail accounts"

5. Select the account you want to remove then click the Remove Account button.

6. Click Yes to confirm

7. Click Save Changes

8. Click Done

9. Click the Mail&More icon at the top to go back to the email page

10 The additional email account should no longer be on the email page.

Third, if you’re able to send and receive email messages through hotmail, it means that the email synchronization file (SDF) that is found on the computer has gotten corrupted causing MSN not to be able to download the email messages. Please follow these steps so the file can be replaced: http://answers.msn.com/thread.aspx?threadid=1e24ba67-43eb-44af-a24d-8462d528464b

If the same issue persists, please click on the triangle beside the Inbox and select More Information. Kindly copy the complete error information especially the one beginning with the hexacode 0x.

Feel free to reply to this post for any questions and feedback.

Thanks!

I've checked the affected email address on the server and found out that it does not have any issues.

Have you already followed the steps above where you need to rename the sdf files? If the same issue persists after doing so, we’ll need to use the email synchronization tool that our Product Engineers developed.

Before you use this tool, please back up email messages saved under Folders on your Computer since you will lose them otherwise.  Please follow Method 1 on this link: http://answers.msn.com/solution.aspx?solutionid=d830f08c-414d-49ae-91cb-df58aa44832f

If you are doing this process on several e-mail accounts, please change the last part of the file name so that you can identify the exported email. For example, instead of leaving it as MSN_Mail.msnbak you can change it to MSN_(e-mail address).msnbak.

Please check the Private Message area below for the next steps.

Now email screen is back with folders on left and messages on right like normal. However, the multiply emails is gone, but I can't delete messages, empty messages from folders and move messages. Before I wrote this, I've received an email from you, MSN solution center at 9:25 pm.  The followings are what I've done.
First
I rename the files as you instruction and added .old at end.
I did the CRT-Shift and F9 and re log onto my msn account. The multiply emails of each recent email still exist. So I did the CRT-Shift and F9 again, but this time right after the CRT-Shift and F9, instead of the first I log onto MSN account, I restart the computer. The multiply emails is gone. But the unable do deleting, moving and empting occur. I just sent my self an email from msn.mail. It didn't show up yet in Hotmail and MSN (Butterfly) mail.  Also, it shows (72) next to Hotmail and INBOX of HOTMAIL. It shows (50) next to Inbox of MSN. Don't know why the discrepancy of number of emails. My guess is HOTMAIL and MSN MAIL is not synchronized.

Hope this information would help you to help me to solve the issues of deleting, moving and empting email messages.

ps: A pop-up on bottom right screen to indicate the number of emails in mail box shows 72 email in msn mail box is what I notice and it's different than what it shows in msn mail of (50).

Thanks

Hi, I just need to be sure what's already done on the computer. So far, you mentioned that you renamed that SDF files and did the CTRL SHIFT F9. How about the tool that Isabelle mentioned? Were yuo able to use it?
