Hi Tom,

I wish I could have provided you the telephonic support; unfortunately the subscription you have signed does not have the option of telephonic assistance as the subscription is economy plan.

Please do provide the size of the DB30 folder and the system information of your computer, please find the steps below:

As the emails take long time even after performing ctrl+shift+f11, we need to check for the file size of the DB30 folder. Please follow the above given instructions on the previous post to locate the db30 folder and right click on the DB30 folder and check for the size of the DB30 folder.

Also, please check the system information
1. Click 'Start' and click 'Run' and Type 'dxdiag' and click ok
2. Under system, you will find the system requirements. (Processor, Memory, Page file, please provide us the required information).

Please reply for further assistance
Thanks!

Hi Tom,

Firstly we need to rename to DB and DB30 folder and then once again perform the steps of ctrl+shift+f11.

Please find the steps below to rename the DB and DB 30 folder

1. Right click on the DB folder

2. In the drop down click on ‘Rename’

3. After DB type’. Old’

1. Right click on the DB30 folder

2. In the drop down click on ‘Rename’

3. After DB30 type’. Old’

Once you rename the ‘DB’ and ‘DB30’ folder to ‘DB.old’ and ‘DB30.old’, please perform the steps of ctrl+shift+f11

1. Click on the MSN butterfly, (Do not sign in)

2. Press the keys‘ctrl+shift+f11’ altogether

Once you perform these steps, you would get a warning to Remove accounts click on Remove accounts.

3. On the desktop double click the MSN butterfly, it will take you through the installation wizard, complete the installation and wait for some time to get the email synchronization to be completed. Please check if the problem persists.

Hi Sampath,

I performed the tasks of renaming the two folders to .old and performing the Crtl-Shift-F11 command procedures. I am still experiencing the same delay time when selecting new MSN functions such as mail, settings, logging in...

Hi Tom,

A backend fix has been applied on the account and you should be able to send/receive emails with no longer delays. Please do check if the issue still persists.

Hi Sampath,

I have been on the phone with MSN folks for two hours today. I could not gain access to the msn.solution.center as it gave me an account verification issue. I had to call tech support to find out how to clear this. I have been able to correct it on the IE access to the center, but not on MSN butterfly login. The solution Center shows me logged in but I can not access My Profile or My Questions.

In the process of working with someone in Manilia I was asked about this issue I am troubleshooting with you. I was sent to someone in India who had me move the dB30, dB30.old, and the dB.old folders to my desktop and then to go through logging in to my account via the MSN Butterfly. We then went through resychronizing my email by using the Check Email icon. We did this several times till I was able to see Document Settings and the Checking email messages appear and quickly go away. I still have delay times when switching between folders in mail or when I want to reply to an email. It still takes minutes to openthe reply wndow. Once it is open and I enter message sending it takes takes just seconds, Still have long waits when switching to settings or other MSN Tasks.

I am replying to this message via IE.

What type of modification was done to my email account? I still have the delays even before working with MSN Folks.

Hi Tom,

After you have perform the steps of ctrl+shift+f11, a new DB30 folder would be created, is it the same folder which is moved to your desktop or did you copy and paste the folder to your desktop.

Please check the size of the DB30 folder on the desktop and also this location

%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\MSN

If the DB30 folder size is the same we need to rename the .sdf file in the below given location,  please find the below given steps to rename the .sdf files.

For Windows XP

Note: Sign out from MSN then close the program before performing the steps below

         1. Click ‘Start’ then ‘Run’

         2. Type in the box: %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\MSN

         3. Click ‘OK’

         The MSN folder will open.

         4. In the MSN folder, do the following:

                   a. Click ‘Tools’, ‘Folder options’, then ‘View’

                   b. Put a dot on ‘Show hidden files and folders’

                   c. Uncheck the ‘Hide extensions for known file types’

                   d. Click ‘Apply’, then ‘OK’

The db30 folder will appear inside the MSN folder.

         5. Open the db30 folder and look for a file that ends as msn-com.sdf and msn-com_JMF.sdf

         6. Right-click, choose ‘Rename’ and add .old after .sdf to both these files

         7. Close the db30 folder

Please reply for further assistance

Thanks!

Hi Sampath,

Yesterday I was told to cut the three db folders and paste them to my desktop. We then logged into MSN via the Butterfly application. This created a new db30 folder only. It did not generate a new db folder.
The folder sizes were pretty close to each other:

Desktop db30 folder = 63.3 MB
MSN Folder db30 folder = 62.6 MB

I have renamed the db30 folder files:

tpegmc-msn-com.sdf.old
tpegmc-msn-com_JMF.sdf.old

What would you like me to do next?

One side effect of the change to my account you made theother day is that I can not sign-out of my MSN homepage. When I try to sign-out the webpage chages to a small clock that says signing out but when my home MSN webpage opens it still shows me signed in. To close the application I have to use the Sign-out and Close from the top pull down menu.

Hi Tom,

As you have already renamed the .sdf files the issue should be fixed and the right way to sign out from MSN is to click on Sign Out and in the drop down to select Sign Out and Close so that the synchorzation process is completed on the account.  Also please optimize your internet explorer browser settings; please follow the steps provided in the link:
