When I try to send email from my MSN account in Outlook 2007 I get the message
Task 'MSN - MAPI - Sending and Receiving' reported error(0x80040126) : 'The operation cannot be performed because the connection to theserver is offline.'
My account was working fine until before last overnight Windows Update.
More Info:
1) The account works fine through the web interface.
2) The account works fine in Outlook 2013 on another PC (other location).
3) Outlook 2007 works fine with other accounts (e.g., gmail).
4) I created a new email account with my MSN email address, same problem.
5) I uninstalled and reinstalled Outlook Connector, same problem.
6) The problem is on a Win 7 64-bit machine, with 32-bit MS Outlook 2007 Enetrprise.
I suspect the problem was created by some incompatibility with last night's Windows Update which was Security Update for Internet Explorer 11 for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2964358) Installation date: 5/8/2014 3:01 AM
Should I just wait it out until Microsoft fixes the problem? What else can I do?
Thanks,
ESA
