Your emailsare saved in folders on MSN or folders oncomputer?       

If it's in MSN thenyou don't have to take a backup it will automatically come to your new computer. But if emails are saved in folders on computer thanyou do have to take a backup of emails and transfer it to your new computer.Please follow these steps if you have emails saved in folders on computer:

• In order to take a backup you need to sign in to MSN and go to Help and settings on the MSN home page.
• From the drop down menu, click on settings. Click on email which is on the left hand side.
• Click on Import or export e mail, copy email, import contacts.
• Click on copy email
• Click on save your email stored on this computer. Select the location where you want to save.

This will takeseveral minutes to get saved. Once it's done copy it in flash drive or anystorage device to transfer it to your windows 7 computer.

To import thosesaved email you need to follow these steps:

1. Sign in to MSN with the account that has the e-mail you want to back up.  

   2.  On the Help & Settings menu,click Settings.  

   3.   Click Change your E-mail Settings.  

4. Click Import or Export e-mail, copy e-mail, or import contacts.  
5. Click Copy E-mail, then click Next.  
6. Select Open your saved MSN e-mail.  
7. The Save As dialog box will show a default location of
   
   C:\Documents and Settings\ [user name] \My Documents. Do not change this path. Click Next, then click Done. 
   
   Note: E-mail messages restored through this method are saved in the Stored Messages folder under Folders on My Computer.

In order to take abackup of your favorites, you need to copy this file (MSN6) and save it inyour hard disc or any storage device. To get into MSN 6 please follow the pathwhich is mentioned below:

WindowsVista or 7:

C:\Users\<USER_NAME> \AppData\Roaming\MSN6

            Windows XP:

C:\Document andSettings\ <USER NAME> \Application Data\MSN6        

Once your computeris up and ready save the file again to the same location.
