Problem with MSN Mail & More (MSN Client Software issue)

Hello -- I know that there has been a problem with MSN Mail & More for at least almost two weeks and I was wondering if it might be fixed soon. I looked through postings on this website and saw a response that included instructions for renaming .sdf files. Will that fix the problem, or should I wait until the issue is resolved from your end? My OS is Windows 7. The error message I receive is: You cannot send or receive your MSN e-mail because of a problem on the e-mail server...Error Code 0x85ad3202.

I know that you work hard to correct problems, and I appreciate the service that you give. Thank you.

Hi mrshvd3,

Need more information:

a. What is the version of MSN Software?

b. Please provide the impacted email address?

Things to do:

a. Sign into hotmail visiting www.hotmail.com

b. Click on options and then click more options at the top right hand corner.

c. Under customizing hotmail click on Advanced privacy settings.

d. Under Using HTTPS for extra Security Click Go to HTTPS Settings.

e. You will see a Sign in screen, so please enter the impacted email address and Password.

f. Make sure Don’t use HTTPS automatically is selected and then Click Save.

g. Sign-out and Sign into MSN and check for resolution.

Please reply back for further assistance.

Hello --

Thank you for your reply.

My MSN dial-up software is version 10.00.0079.0400.

The impacted email address is {removed email address}.

Both outgoing and incoming email to that address have not been working at Mail & More; however, I have been able to send and receive mail at Hotmail.com (mail addressed to {removed email address} arrives at Hotmail.com, but does not arrive in my MSN Mail; trying to send mail from my MSN Mail resulted in the outgoing mail remaining in the Outbox).

I followed your instructions above. The outgoing mail function at my MSN Mail is now working, but the incoming email function still doesn't work (the mail sent to {removed email address} is still coming in at Hotmail.com, but not at my MSN Mail & More). I no longer show the yellow triangle or error message, but incoming mail still doesn't work.

Can you suggest a further solution to resolve the incoming mail problem?
