Transition from MSN to Outlook

My wife and I have MSN Premium accounts which we pay a monthly charge. We have separate e-mail boxes calendars and contacts.

Now, when we log into MSN by clicking on the butterfly our pictures pop up. We click on one of the pictures and enter our respective password.

I am now hearing that we are being asked to switch from MSN to outlook to access our e-mail. I think we are also being asked to switch our calendars and contacts to outlook (not sure).

What I can’t figure out is… after transitioning to outlook, will we still click on the MSN butterfly to open MSN and access our outlook e-mail or do we have to click on some other icon to view our outlook e-mail.

If the answer is that we click on some other icon to access our outlook e-mail, why would I keep the MSN application? We use none of the MSN features except for email, contacts and calendar.
