Unable to share photos in email. Receive error code 0x80004005.

For several days I have been unable to share photos in email.  My messages go into the Outbox and I receive an error message that tells me that the photo program is not available. I just keep getting error message 0x80004005.   How do I fix this?

Hi Bowie,

Inorder to fix this you need to rename the SDF files which are in Databasefolder.

 

Tofind the database folder location, please follow the instruction given below:

 

Windows Vista/Windows 7

Note: Sign out from MSN then close the programbefore performing the steps below.

  

1.  Click‘Start’

         2. In the Search box, type the following: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\MSN

          3. Press the ENTERkey         

         The MSN folder will open.

         4. In the MSN folder, do the following:      

              a. Click ‘Organize’, ‘Folder and Search options’, then ‘View’

              b. Put a dot on ‘Show hidden files and folders’

              c. Uncheck the ‘Hide extensions for known file types’ and ‘Hide protectedoperating system files options’

              d. Click ‘Apply’, then ‘OK’

        If its msn 10.20 db30 folder will appear inside the MSN folder.

If Itsmsn 10.50 db30 and db40 folders will appear inside the MSN folder.

         5. Open the db30(msn 10.20)/db40(msn10.50)folder then look for files that endas msn-com.sdf and msn-com_JMF.sdf

         6. Right-click, choose ‘Rename’ and add .old after .sdf to both thesefiles

         7. Close the db30 folder

 

Windows XP

Note: Sign out from MSN then close the programbefore performing the steps below.

 

        1. Click ‘Start’ then ‘Run’

        2. Type in the box: %USERPROFILE%\LocalSettings\Application Data\Microsoft\MSN

        3. Click ‘OK’

        The MSN folder will open.   

        4. In the MSN folder, do thefollowing:                

                  a. Click ‘Tools’, ‘Folder options’, then ‘View’

                  b. Put a dot on ‘Show hidden files and folders’

                  c. Uncheck the ‘Hide extensions for known file types’

                  d. Click ‘Apply’, then ‘OK’

        Ifits msn 10.20 db30 folder will appear inside the MSN folder.

If Itsmsn 10.50 db30 and db40 folders will appear inside the MSN folder.

  1. Open the db30(msn 10.20)/db40(msn10.50)folder then look for files that end as msn-com.sdf and msn-com_JMF.sdf
  2.  Right-click, choose ‘Rename’ and add .old after .sdf to both these files

       8. Close the db30 folder

Afterrenaming the sdf files. Sign in to MSN and wait for the emails to get filter, if the issue still persist please check the private message below for further assistance.
