    Hi,

I understand that you want to install msn client 10.20 on your computer, but unfortunately the MSN 10.20 is outdated and you have to install MSN client 10.50.

In order to install MSN client 10.50 your should have windows XP Sp3  installed on your computer, anything older than win XP Sp3 is not compatible with the new MSN client 10.50.

To Install MSN software please follow the steps listed below:

Open a Web Browser or Internet Explorer window by clicking on the blue “e” icon on the Desktop.

    1.  In the Internet Explorer (Browser) window, type http://membercenter.msn.com/ in the address bar and press Enter.
    1.  Once the page loads, click on the Sign In button and enter your MSN e-mail address and password.
    1.  Click Download MSN Software on the right-hand side.
    2.  Click Download and install the latest MSN software.
    3.  Click the Install Now button.
    4.  Click Run in the File Download box. This will initiate the download of MSN’s Installation Wizard which may take about 2 to 5 minutes. You may be prompted to click Run again.
    5.  On the next window, choose "Yes, I'm currently connected to the Internet."
    6.  Enter your primary "MSN e-mail address" and passwords in the field provided and click next.
    7.  The next page after will prompt you to accept the MSN service agreement.  To accept and continue with the installation, type your name in the blank field exactly as it appears, then select "I Accept."
    1.  In the Installation option page, select "Typical" and click on Next. (If you want to pick & choose components choose Custom)
    2.  It will display a list of components that are being installed.  The rest of the download and installation should take from 30-45 minutes. It depends on your computer and connection speed. Click on Finish once it appears on the screen.
    3.  The MSN welcome screen will show up and you can sign-in to MSN.

    Sincerely,

    Mubarak

I have Windows Vista. If I am reading correctly, Vista is not compatible with 10.5 (to be released on July 23). What are the consequences to me of the upcoming changes based on 10.5, since I would be on Vista/10.2 MSN Explorer?

Thanks.

Dear Mubarak,

Thank you for detailed instructions on upgrading to MSN Explorer 10.5. However, I have a problem.

I am able to get to the page where I'm to click on "http://membercenter.msn.com/download.aspx". (Page URL http://membercenter.msn.com/article.aspx?pa=MC_ART_DownloadMSNSoftware.)

The link is coded to take me to URL http://membercenter.msn.com/download.aspx however I am in fact taken to URL http://membercenter.msn.com/404.aspx?aspxerrorpath=/download.aspx, (the dreaded 404 Error) and I'm told "Sorry, the page you're trying to reach is temporarily unavailable or the page may no longer exist."

How do I access the download area?

p.s. Furthermore, trying the "MSN Help" option, I see an option for "MSN Explorer: Order an installation CD" and clicking on it (http://onlinehelp.microsoft.com/en-us/msn/ff808904.aspx)  takes me to "To order MSN CDs, go to the http://g.live.com/0HE_TRACKSTAR_ENUS9/6264." But clicking on the link (http://g.live.com/0HE_TRACKSTAR_ENUS9/6264) leads me to (https://cdorder.msn.com/ErrorPage.aspx) which says "Sorry, we cannot complete your request at this time. To complete your request at a later time, please return to this web site and try again." You should know that I have tried this link several times a day for more than two (2) weeks, always getting the same result! Not helpful at all.  kpjc+
