How do I get my MSN Mail account and my favorites from old computer to new computer?
Latest post: jernor, Wednesday, May 2, 2012 5:53 PM
I have recently purchased a new computer and I am unable to get to my MSN mail account.  I can get Hotmail and Windows live mail, but cannot get to my msn mail.  I'm still subscribed, so where did it go??  The old computer had Windows XP on it and I believe this one is Windows 7.  I have not been able to find my msn mail account anywhere.  I had all of my favorites on that site - up in the bar across the top - and there were a lot of them - how can I get them to my new computer, and why can't I get my msn e-mail account to come up - did someone decide that with Windows 7, we didn't need msn mail???  There should be some way to transfer all of my old files, programs, or records to my new computer, but I certainly can't figure out how.

Hi Jernor,

If you recently purchase the new Windows 7 computer, MSN is not yet installed where your favorites are saved. Copy the URL below and paste it on the address bar of your browser to install MSN

Hope this helps.

I could never get anything except - "no results found" when I put this in, and I tried several times.  Any other suggestions???

Please follow the steps listed below:

1. Open a Web Browser or Internet Explorer window by clicking on the blue “e” icon on the Desktop.
2. In the Internet Explorer (Browser) window, type http://membercenter.msn.com in the address bar and press Enter.
3. Once the page loads, click on the Sign In button and enter your MSN e-mail address and password.
4. Click Download MSN Software on the right-hand side.
5. Click Download and install the latest MSN software.
6. Click the Install Now button.
7. Click Run in the File Download box. This will initiate the download of MSN’s Installation Wizard which may take about 2 to 5 minutes. You may be prompted to click Run again.
8. On the next window, choose "Yes, I'm currently connected to the Internet."
9. Enter your primary "MSN e-mail address" and password in the field provided and click Next.
10. The next page after will prompt you to accept the MSN service agreement.  To accept and continue with the installation, type your name in the blank field exactly as it appears, then select "I Accept."
11. In the Installation option page, select "Typical" and click on Next. (If you want to pick & choose components choose Custom)
12. It will display a list of components that are being installed.  The rest of the download and installation should take from 30-45 minutes. It depends on your computer and connection speed. Click on Finish once it appears on the screen.
13. If prompted to restart the computer click on "Yes"

Thanks Paolo:

That worked - I stumbled onto it somewhere along the line & had the material down loaded before I looked at your response, but was the same thing.  Thanks again.  Jernor
