I updated to Internet Explorer 8, but when I go on the internet via MSN, I still get a message that I'm using IE7.

Hello dterao,

MSN is compatible with IE7 and as of now, is not compatible with IE8.

I am using MSN explorer '"Version 10.20.0091.1100 (Feature Version 10.2011.0625.11)", and I also have IE9.  Several websites have given me error messages similar to the one below, which is from http://www.behance.net/ . 

We notice you are using an outdated version of Internet Explorer.

This browser is not supported by the Behance Network.

I receive this message while using MSN explorer, but I have no problems when using IE9.  Usually the sites will let me in with a warning, but some will not let me in period.  I have had this issue on other sites as well, the most notable was Youtube a few weeks back (although it did not come up tonight).   Some of the sites detect IE8 and others detect IE7, and it is always when I am using MSN explorer never in IE.

Hi Tinknocker,

As per the previous post, MSN runs on the Internet Explorer 7 Compatibility Mode. It applies to all MSN software users while browsing few websites if you get a pop up regarding Compatibilty and you need to upgrade your Internet Explorer. As of now MSN is not compatible with Internet Explorer 8 & 9.
With the newer Version of MSN you should be able to access these websites.

I am not sure about the time for next release of the newer version. You will be notified about the upgrade once its out, or might be a patch released to fix it which will happen in background process while you are signed in.

Hi, Nitesh --

Great news and thank you very much.  I contacted tech support about this problem quite a while ago, but since no one else had mentioned it, it was thought to be an issue with my software only.  I was glad to see others pop up and complain about it, too.  That way I know that it's being looked into from your end.....and it's not just me!
