SYMPTOM:

The number “25” appears in the lower-left corner of the error message box with one of the below message.

  • We cannot sign you in because we were unable to download your settings.

  • We cannot sign you in to MSN because the date and time may not be set correctly on your computer.

 

TROUBLESHOOTING:

If you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7

  1. Click Start, click Control Panel 

  1. Click Date and Time if you see that option. Otherwise, click Clock, Language and Region, and then click Date and Time 

  1. Click Change Date and Time. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Allow.   

  1. On the Date and Time screen, use the calendar and time controls to adjust the date and time to the correct settings for your time zone. When you are finished, click Apply, and then click OK. 

  1. Try signing in to MSN again.

 

If you are using Windows 2000 or Windows XP

  1. Click Start, click Control Panel 

  1. Click Date, Time, Language, and Regional Settings 

  1. Click Date and Time 

  1. On the Date and Time screen, use the calendar and time controls to adjust the date and time to the correct settings for your time zone. When you are finished, click Apply, and then click OK 

  1. Try signing in to MSN again.
