Hi AL-Yankee,

As I understand you don’t want to receive messenger pop up’s. If you don’t use messenger then you may uninstall it.

Things to do:

To remove MSN Messenger

Windows Xp

1. In the notification area, right-click the MSN Messenger icon, and then click Sign Out.

2.  Click Start, click Run, type CONTROL APPWIZ.CPL and then click OK.

3.  In the list of currently installed programs, select MSN Messenger, and then click Remove.

4.  If you are prompted to confirm that you want to remove the program, click yes.

Windows Vista or Win 7

In the notification area, right-click the MSN Messenger icon, and then click Sign Out.

a. Click Start, type programs and features in the Start Search box, and then click Programs and Features in the Programs list.

b. In the list of currently installed programs, select Windows Live Messenger, and then click Uninstall.

c. If you are prompted to confirm that you want to remove the program, click yes.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Allow.

Then Restart the computer and revert back for further assistance.

Thanks!
