How to change MSN Premium log in to reflect change to new address of outlook.com
Latest post: Nitesh, Thursday, August 02, 2012 11:49 PM
I just converted to new email adress with outlook.com.    Now I can't log into MSN Premium under to previous email address, and can't change it, so have to log in as Guest user.   How do I change all this. Also, I seem to be in Messenger, but when I try to change something it says to log into Messenger, which doesn't seem to work.....I think related to the switch to outlook.com

Hi MollyJack,

Please follow the steps below to resolve the issue:1. If you are signed in to MSN, click Sign Out, and then click Sign out and close.2. Restart computer3. Before you perform the steps, You need to take a back up of "MSN6" and "MSN" folder

For Windows XP :

"MSN6" file location : C:\Document and Settings\ <USER NAME> \Application Data\MSN6(Right click on MSN6 click copy and then go to desktop and paste it.)

"MSN" file location : C:\Document and Settings\<USER NAME>\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\MSN(Right click on MSN click copy and then go to desktop and paste it.)

For Windows Vista and Windows 7 :

"MSN6" file location : C:\Document and Settings\<USER NAME>\AppData\Roaming\MSN6(Right click on MSN6 click copy and then go to desktop and paste it.)

"MSN" file location : C:\Document and Settings\<USER NAME>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\MSN(Right click on MSN click copy and then go to desktop and paste it.)

4. Start MSN, but do not sign in. When the sign-in screen appears select your Email Address then press and hold down the CTRL and SHIFT keys, then press the F11 key.

5. When you are prompted to confirm your action, click Yes, and then click Yes again.

6. Restart MSN and Follow the installation wizard.

7. When prompted to type Email address and Password, type the outlook.com Email address and procced with installation process.

8. Restart MSN, you should find Outlook.com Email address on the MSN welcome screen.

9. Once signed in, you may need to wait for 10-15 minutes while the software re-synchronizes the information.Hope this helps. Thanks,Nitesh
