Paolo gave me the following answer, but i don't even have #9 in the advance tab box.  Also, on #11, a note popped up that stated wintrust.dll was OK, but the call to dll.registerserver failed.  what is code #0x80070005?
  1. Click on Start or Windows Orb then type inetcpl.cpl then press Enter to open the Internet Properties window
  2. In the Internet Properties window, click on Advanced at the top
  3. Click on Reset at the bottom part of the window.
  4. On the small pop-up window, make sure that the box is checked then click on Reset again.
  5. Follow step number 1 once more
  6. Click the delete button under Browsing History
  7. Uncheck the check box for Preserve Favorites Data then check all the other checkboxes then click Delete at the bottom
  8. Click the Content Tab, then click clear SSL State then click ok
  9. Click the Advance Tab, Uncheck Check for Publisher's certificate revocation and Check for Server certificate revocation
  10. Check Use SSL 2.0 then click ok at the bottom
  11. Click on Start or Windows Orb then type regsvr32 softpub.dll wintrust.dll then click ok
  12. Click on Start or Windows Orb then type ipconfig /flushdns

Thanks!

Hi PatRoush1959,"Check for Publisher's certificate revocation and Check for Server certificate revocation" is under the category of "Security" when you scroll the bar all the way at the bottom otherwise, there is a corrupted settings on the Internet Explorer. Try these steps to repair/reset Internet Explorer Settings
  1. Close any Internet Explorer or Windows Explorer windows that are currently open.

  2. Open Internet Explorer by clicking the Start button . In the search box, type Internet Explorer, and then, in the list of results, click Internet Explorer.
  3. Click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options.
  4. Click the Advanced tab, and then click Reset.
  5. Select the Delete personal settings check box if you would like to remove browsing history, search providers, Accelerators, home pages, and InPrivate Filtering data.
  6. In the Reset Internet Explorer Settings dialog box, click Reset.
  7. When Internet Explorer finishes restoring the settings, click Close, and then click OK.
  8. Close Internet Explorer.

Your changes will take effect the next time you open Internet Explorer.

The code that you got when you registered the dll files usually happens when you are not logged on as the administrator on the computer. To determine whether you are logged on as the administrator, follow these steps

1. Open User Accounts by clicking the Start button , 2. Click Control Panel3. ClickUser Accounts and Family Safety, 4. Click User Accounts5. Click on Manage another account. If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

Your account type is displayed below your user name. If your account type isAdministrator, then you are currently logged on as an administrator.Hope this helps,Thanks,Paolo M.
