I cannot access my billing account information
Latest post: Paolo M., Sunday, June 17, 2012 9:03 PM
I am receiving correspondence that I need to update my credit card, but each time I try, a message says it does not recognize my computer. I have tried to update it many times. I have never received a verification code like the instructions say. Although I understand MSN's reasoning for this, it is very frustrating. It never took this long before, nor was it this difficult. With banks sending new debit/credit cards with the frequency that they do, a quick efficient way to change out cards would be nice.It seems I am going to lose my MSN account because I cannot access my account info page to change my payment information. I have a new computer, but that doesn't matter since MSN doesn't recognize it. This is crazy.

Hi,

As part of our continued efforts to keep our customers accounts secure, we have implemented a process called Two Factor Authentication.  At this time TFA is only active at billing.Microsoft.com.

The two factors are:1. Your LiveID2. A code sent to your alternate e-mail address.

Please follow the steps below to login to the billing website successfully to update your payment method.

Remove old security information (If Applicable)

1.Sign in to http://account.live.com using your email address and password2.Click the dropdown arrow beside your Name located at the upper right corner of the screen.3.Click Account. 4.Under Account security, click Manage beside Security info. 5.Click Delete after Alternate Email or other proof. 6.Click Mark them all for removal to continue. 7.Click Mark for removal.

Add new security information  1.Go to https://account.live.com/Proofs/Manage 2.Make sure that you have at least two security information present. It is highly recommended that you fill out all four types.  •Phone Number – preferably mobile number capable of receiving SMS  •Alternate email address  •Trusted PC  •Security Question  3.Once you’re done, click Save 4.Log in to https://billing.microsoft.com 5.Enter the verification code 6.Update your payment information.Hope this helps.Paolo M.
