How do I remove an old email address from Hotmail?
Latest post: biggles1940, Friday, September 09, 2011 9:15 PM
When Qwest informed its customers that it would no longer support MSN mail they persuaded me to try their email service at q.com. I determined that I would prefer to use  MSN and told Qwest to close the account, which was done back in June. I am now being told that people who are sending me mail are receiving undeliverable notices relating to the old q.com account from Hotmail. I checked this by sending a message to myself which arrived with an additional undeliverable notice for the old account.Any help that one may be able to provide would be greatly appreciated.

Greetings,If the issue is with your email account ending in q.com, unfortunately, there is nothing that MSN or Hotmail can do.  Your q.com account was moved from Hotmail to Qwest and thus is no longer controlled by Microsoft.   Since you asked Qwest to close your account, they most likely deleted the q.com email address so the undeliverable message is expected in that case.  Please make sure that your contacts have your new msn.com email address. If your friends and associates are receiving undeliverable messages when sending to your new @msn.com email address, then we will need to investigate that issue.Thank you,Berit

Thanks Berit,Actually found, thanks to an MSN tech., that the problem was under Hotmail options where there is an option for forwarding email to another account and the q.com was inserted there. Cannot understand why that should have suddenly popped up during the last three days when the only account I have is my msn account and the q.com account was closed over three months ago. It's just another case of computer illogicality!Biggles1940
