Hi Sam,Attachments on e-mail are not opened using the software you use to access the e-mail. What happens is that the software tries to check for a program, on your computer, that opens the particular file. In the case that MSN cannot find a program that will open the attachment, it gets blocked. For a Power Point file, you will need the Microsoft Power Point from the Microsoft Office, or at least the MS Powerpoint viewer. Here's a link to the download page:http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=13You can also go to the Microsoft Store if you are interested in getting the Microsoft Office:http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msstore/homeFeel free to reply to this post if the MSN Explorer continues to block the attachment even after installing a Power Point program. Thanks!Natasha C.

Hi Teds resting place,

PDF files are usually associated with Microsoft Powerpoint. What you need to purchase is MS Powerpoint. To get details on how to buy one, refer to the link below:

I received an email from a know friend which included an attachement.  On my new laptop, it would not open.  There was a note saying "These Attachments have not been scanned for viruses.  MSN blocked the following unsafe files:  Over_Population.pps"Although my new laptop would not open it, my desktop had no problem, MSN did not flag it, and the whole thing worked like it should!  There was no virus.  I have noted that there are other emails that will not open their attachements.  How do I set my security limits to receive these items which I receive on a regular basis from known, safe senders?
