Audio problem when playing video on internet sites, eg. NBC
Latest post: Paolo M., Tuesday, July 10, 2012 11:57 PM

I have a Dell Latitude E6500, and have Windows XP.  I can play DVD's just fine with no audio problem.  But starting just last week, when I try to play a video clip on an Internet site, eg. NBC, the video played but the audio came through in stacato form like it was missing pieces.Any idea what is going on.  Oh, by the way, I have now been on hold at MSN phone support for one hour and 38 minutes!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi,Can you tell me if this is happening to other browsers such as Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox or is it just happening on MSN?

Yes, it is happening on Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox.  I downloaded Firefox just to see if there was a difference.  When I click on Firefox from my desktop it takes me to a Google search window, so I was confused if Firefox is independent or going through Google via my Internet Explorer.  Confusing to me.  After your response, I just went back and clicked on Firefox from the desktop and then search for ESPN where I clicked on the home run derby report and the audio was still in the stacatto sounding manner. Thanks so much for your help.

Google page is set as the homepage on Firefox that is why you're seeing google.com when opening it. Try to check if you can play any sound on the computer without using any browsers. Go to My Documents > My Music > Sample Music and try to open any music file there. If you won't hear any music, possible that the sound card on your computer needs to be fixed, please call the computer's manufacturer to get further assistance.Paolo M.
