When I try to open an Outlook folder I am told that I must connect to microsoft Exchange at least once before I can use my Outlook data file (.ost). I am a home user, and have not had this problem before. As a likely related problem, I recieve an email send/recieve error relating to the inability to open an outlook file.Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,Microsoft Exchange for Microsoft Outlook is for business use and it needs a server name so that emails can be sucessfully synchronized. For home users, Microsoft Outlook uses POP3 or web-based email service and one good example is by the use of Outlook connector. To further assist you, delete the acccount added to Outlook then download and install the file from this website:32-bit Operating System: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/redir/XT010225698.aspx?CTT=5&origin=HA01022251864-bit Operating System: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/redir/XT102648233.aspx?CTT=5&origin=HA010222518Once it is installed successfully, open Outlook and it will automatically ask for your MSN email information so, follow the instructions there and it should synchronize your email and contacts successfully.Hope this helps,Paolo M
